Nathan Saggi is an ambitious young Torres Strait Islander from Murray Island and has been granted a Bernie Singleton Scholarship.

Nathan is studying a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology (Hons) at The University of Queensland. On completion of his degree, Nathan hopes to return to community and deliver exercise based, lifestyle and behavioural programs to Indigenous people living with, or at risk of developing, chronic and complex medical conditions.

Nathan has witnessed chronic disease becoming a significant health issue within his community and is passionate about improving health outcomes to ensure longer, healthier and happier lives for his people.
