Apunipima's Commitment to Providing Child & Youth Safe Environments

Apunipima Cape York Health Council has a clear vision and purpose for the future.

Cape York families are empowered to live healthy, happy lives.

To deliver high quality, culturally safe, community-controlled, holistic health care.

Our vision is for generational change in health and wellbeing, and we can do this through our children and young people who represent over 40% of our target population in Cape York. Protection starts in womb and early childhood development.

We support the rights of children and young people and are committed to building a culture that recognises the importance of upholding safeguards for children and providing child and youth safe environments throughout our service delivery centres.

Apunipima is improving our service with a major system upgrade. Centres will be closed this Thursday 11 June from 12pm, and all day Friday 12 June while we perform this important work. Thimithi-Nhii Primary Health Care Centre in Mapoon will be closed all day Thursday 11 June. Normal opening hours resume Monday 15 June 2026.
